The perfume bears the name of Eros, the Greek deity of love and the son of the goddess Aphrodite. Since Gianni Versace established his fashion empire and adopted the goddess Medusa as the brand's logo to decorate a number of the company's products, including the new flacon of men's fragrance Eros, inspiration from ancient Greece has persisted.Aurelien Guichard of Givaudan produced Eros, which was described as being light, woodsy, and faintly oriental. Green apple, Italian lemon, and mint oil are all included in the aroma. Tonka, which imparts warmth, is combined with geranium blossoms and Venezuelan ambroxan to give the aroma a fougere touch.
